Hi Zee, firstly, please be aware that once your Australian licence has expired you cannot drive in Great Britain GB or exchange the licence for a GB licence. As a visitor, you can drive in GB for up to 12 months from when you last entered the country. If you do consider yourself resident and exchange your licence, you will not have to take a UK driving test. Technically you can keep both licenses. If your Australian licence is lost, you can still exchange it for a GB licence, but if you found your Australian licence, you would be expected to send it to the DVLA.
