Playing old games on widescreen monitor

Think of a x image. Stretching it to x will result in a loss of image quality. The image will not look as detailed as it was in it's original resolution. The option is "Change flat panel scaling" but the screenshot detects the monitor as a CRT, hence why the option is missing.

You need to get the display detected as a flatscreen. The option works perfectly and there's none of that custom resolutions nonsense. As it's been said above it's a great resource. It's possible that your screen will still adjust the input image no matter what the graphics card is sending. Check your monitor settings as well.

Also make sure to set Perform scaling on: to GPU to ensure you're always sending a highres image this will degrade performance a bit but won't rely on the monitor's upscaling.
